It is with heavy hearts that the family of Allan Richard May announce his passing on Friday, July 30, 2021 at the age of 77 years old.
Allan was born July 13, 1944 to Richard and Irene May. He was their eldest child. He grew up in the Cremona and Water Valley area, then as an adult moved to Calgary.
Allan was a long time member of Ironworkers Local #25. While “Stretch” worked as an ironworker, he was able to travel throughout Canada and the USA.
He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing cribbage, watching NASCAR, going to the casino, gardening and holding the TV remote hostage.
Allan is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra; sons, Dan Boucher (spouse Carleen and son Nicolas) and Rick May (spouse Joette), Dave Bremner (spouse Jasmine, children Max and Lola). He is also survived by two sisters, Pat Williams (Gerald) and Bonnie Sue (Jeff Fernandes) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Allan was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Irene May; son, Doug Bremner and brothers, Larry and Terry May.
At this time no service will be held but a family gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the

Our family would like to express our most sincere thank you and utmost gratitude to the team of caregivers at the Tom Baker Cancer Center for their care and compassion during Allan’s prolonged stay. The Unit 47 Palliative Care staff were just awesome!
