On Tuesday, April 27, 2021 Mr. Alvin Anton Exner, beloved husband of the late Amelia “Millie” Exner (nee Runge), of Calgary, Alberta, joined the angels in Heaven at the age of 79 years.
Alvin is survived and dearly loved by his four children Leanna and her husband David O’Connell of Calgary, Shellie and her husband Don Murchie of Calgary, Darren Exner and his wife Laura of Calgary, and Lynett and her husband Romeo Maisonneuve of Chestermere, Alberta. He is also remembered by eleven grandchildren Jennifer and her husband Jake Turgeon, Brittany O’Connell, Robert O’Connell and his wife Tracy, Michael O’Connell and his wife Michelle, Zachary O’Connell and his wife Shelby, CJ Murchie, Emily Murchie, Adam Exner and his wife Jesse, Justin Exner, Jordan Maisonneuve, Dylan Maisonneuve; eight great-grandchildren Kennedy, Oliver, Payton, Cohen, Finley, Brodyn, Hendrix, Charlie; as well as his special friend and partner Shannon Johnson; and his siblings Phyllis Harty of Regina, Saskatchewan, Allan Exner and his wife Darlene of Regina, Saskatchewan, and Linda and her husband Clarence Stronge of Calgary.
Besides his loving wife Millie, Alvin is predeceased by his parents Clara (nee Ottenbreit) and Anton Exner and his daughter Tammy.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects to Alvin from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2021 from Pierson’s Funeral Chapel, 4121 – 17 Avenue S.E., Calgary. Due to the pandemic protocol, only 20 people are allowed in the building at one time. We ask all to stagger your arrival to the funeral home. Masks and social distancing are compulsory.
A private Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Alvin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021 from Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1525 – 45 Street SE, Calgary. All are welcome to view the live broadcast via the link below on this webpage. Interment will follow the Mass at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
