Calgary

On Saturday, April 13, 2024, Mr. Andrew Tyler Girard of Calgary, Alberta passed away at the age of 29 years.  He leaves his mother, Trina Girard - Cameron, who had the privilege of watching Andrew grow, learning and laughing with him, and ultimately being loved by him.

Andrew was a brilliant blend of loyalty, humour, and adventure.  He found joy in the simplest moments, and shared it generously with anyone near him.  The warmth of his laughter and the depth of his kindness were felt by all.  Andrew wasn't just present in life, he embraced it with an open heart and curious spirit.  His adventures were countless, propelled by a fearless enthusiasm to discover new heights, both literally and metaphorically.

Behind Andrew's mischievous grin and adventurous spirit lay a heart that could recognize and cherish the beauty in life.  His wisdom, often catching us by surprise, showed us a man who could see beyond the surface, making profound observations about the world and the human experience. Despite his tough exterior, he was endlessly kind to children, animals, and those facing challenges, always ready to offer a helping hand.

Andrew's favourite sayings were: "You only live once, so make the best of it.  And always have respect, it goes a long way. Love the people in your life.  Time is short.  Love each other. Be real. No fakers."  These were the principles by which Andrew lived.

Andrew's unique insight into life's complexities, his wisdom beyond years, and his unadulterated love for life's simple joys exemplified his multifaceted nature.

Andrew always had a way of making others laugh, turning even the dimmest days into bright ones.  His presence was a beacon of support, always reassuring those around him that he had their backs, no matter the circumstance.  Andrew wasn't one to shy away from new experiences, embodying the very definition of living fast and loving hard.   His affection wasn't limited to people alone.  Children and animals held a special place in his heart, often becoming the recipients of his boundless compassion.  If you were in need, Andrew would be there, offering you the shirt off his back and his last piece of bread without hesitation.

Andrew's life was enriched by the presence of many, including his best friends and siblings. He shared unique bonds with Travis Amy, Thomas Corey, Kristian, and Alexander Johnny Lyons.  These bonds filled his life with joy, camaraderie, and the essence of brotherhood.  Whether it was through shared adventures or the simple act of living life together, they all had a special place in Andrew's heart, contributing to the bright tapestry of his life.  Donavan, Merriah, Christopher, Jessica, and Nathan had a unique sibling relationship with Andrew, filled with games, lessons, laughter and love.  His uncle Jason Cameron and nephew Dakota shared stories and bonds that were treasures that Andrew cherished deeply.  Denise McConvey's and Kelly McConvey's unwavering support and love provided Andrew with a foundation of strength and joy, from fun movie weekends to playful wrestling matches.

Andrew's achievements were many, but amongst them, his pride and joy remained to be his beautiful daughter, Azaria Wright.  His role in helping his Mom, Trina, get her life back by lending unmatched support, and his hard work as a heavy mover in Alberta, were testaments to his strength, resilience, and loving heart.

Perhaps what was most surprising about Andrew was his deep insight and wisdom, qualities that belied his years.  He had a unique perspective on life, a wisdom that allowed him to empathize and connect with those who struggled.

Andrew's journey through life may have been cut short, but the memories, love, and lessons left behind are eternal. He will be missed by all who know him.

Cremation has taken place at Foothills Crematorium.
