Angela Aivaz passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022, at the age of 44 years. She is survived by her husband, Naz; daughters, Zari and Suri; mother, Patricia Udokang; brothers, Marcus & Essien (Avital); aunts, uncles and extended family in Canada and Iran. Angela is predeceased by her father, Okon Udokang (2006); and grandparents, Aubrey and Irene Crowe.
Angela was born in Nigeria on November 14, 1977, in the city of Ibadan. In 1981, the Udokang family came to Canada and lived in Ottawa for 14 years then onto Calgary in 1995. She and Naz married in 2002. They were devoted to each other and inseparable.
Angela attended the University of Calgary obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences in 2006 followed by a Master of Science in Biological Sciences in 2010. Her thesis focused on Behavioural Ecology. Angela also attended SAIT to study Graphic Design and earned a University Teaching Certificate from the University of Calgary. Recently, Mount Royal University offered Angela a position as Advisor in her field of specialization, which was MadCap Flare online documentation software. Angela was a superb researcher, writer and educator. She had exemplary written and oral communication skills. She authored several publications, three of which were published in professional scientific journals, and she developed and presented numerous talks as a guest lecturer and a teacher in academic facilities and at international and national conferences. Angela excelled at technical writing, data management, interpretation of analytical data, and dissemination of research results. She was proficient at critical thinking, logical reasoning and problem solving, with a keen attention to detail. She founded Aivaz Consulting, a very successful company specializing in online documentation, e-learning and design services.
During this time, Angela and Naz grew their family with two daughters, Zari in 2008 and Suri in 2013. The girls were Angela’s pride and joy. Angela loved travelling with her husband, children and mother. They covered Turkey, Israel, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and Ireland, usually by car, enjoying the countryside, museums, art galleries, local food, and other interesting places in each country. They even stayed overnight in a castle in Belgium and a heritage pub in The Netherlands. She was always smiling and had a contagious laugh. Angela was loved and admired by everyone who met her; she will be deeply missed by all.
The Lord has wrapped her in His arms and taken her to His place of peace.
A Memorial Service will be held for Angela at Valleyview Community Church (7655 – 26th Ave. SW, Calgary) on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 12:00 PM.
Angela’s final resting place will be Eden Brook Memorial Gardens (24223 Township Rd 242, Calgary).
