Anita Margit (Nee Schoenwalter) Bodon

With heavy hearts we bid farewell to a dear “Schatz” and a loving and devoted mom and mummum. Anita passed away with family around her after a hard fight with cancer on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the age of 75 years. She will be missed by the family she leaves behind: husband of 57 years Karl; children Tanya (Shawn) Jensen, Monica (Doug) Pecharsky and Steven (Michelle) Bodon; grandchildren Greg, Stacey, Connor, Haley, Arian, Joshua and Tayler; and many more family and friends. Anita lived a life full of love and devotion to her family, friends and in service to her Heavenly Father. She demonstrated her deep love for family as she spent time and shared experiences with her three children, seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. The love she had for animals was also passed down through the generations. Anita understood the importance of a healthy lifestyle and was always active in physical pursuits. She loved to run and hike and could often be found outdoors and on the go. Along with being active in physical pursuits she was very talented in the kitchen. There are many fond memories of gathering at Mummum and Opa’s for great German food and lots of laughs. Anita had a deep faith in a loving Heavenly Father and her Saviour Jesus Christ. She shared that faith with many over a lifetime of service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in the communities in which she lived. A Private Family Service will be held for Anita and she will be interred at the Okotoks Cemetery, (Okotoks, AB).
