Anna Pashko

Anna Pashko passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the Foothills Hospital at the age of 83 years.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters Gloria Black (Rob) of Calgary and Dianna Peters (David) of Fort McMurray; two sons Jim Pashko (Francine Bergeron) and Orist Pashko, all of Peace River; Four grandchildren Niki Black (Ken Edmunds) and their children Cole & Amy, Jody Peters, Glenna Peters and her children Hailey & Isabella, and Duffy Pashko (Beth Oakley) and their children Claire, Ceili & Aurelia. Anna is also survived by her sisters and brother Irene, Ilene, Rose, Kathy and Fred, and many other relatives and friends.

Anna was predeceased by her husband Walter Pashko; her parents Andrew and Mary Donecz brothers Frank and sister Xenia.

Anna was born in Fort Vermilion, Alberta to Andrew and Mary Donecz and raised in Rocky Lane, AB. As a young girl she learned the fine art of sewing and her skills as a seamstress remained strong her entire life. She loved music and learned a number of instruments. She married Walter Pashko and they moved to Manning where they began raising their family. Not long after, they later moved to Peace River where the youngest two were born. As the children matured, Anna began working as the manager at Avis Rental Car for many years. In 1996, she moved to Calgary where she has resided since. Anna enjoyed bowling, darts and playing bingo. She also enjoyed watching her Calgary Flames and keeping up with current events. She was a remarkable cook and knew the secrets of Ukrainian cooking: making bread, sauerkraut, pickles, other canning and even wine. She was a soft and gentle person who was always there for her family. She will be dearly missed.
