Anne McCourtney, age 94, passed away peacefully in Calgary on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 following a brave battle with cancer. She was born July 27th, 1925 to Rudolf and Olga Kobus. She married her friend and love, Edward “Ted” in July of 1954 once he had her convinced. Anne was always the elegant one, a trait that her daughter and granddaughters, and great-granddaughters have carried on to this day.
Anne loved to garden and cook. Her raspberries were transplanted all over Alberta. She was a fantastic cook and took a lot of pride in her family dinners, especially her desserts for the boys.
Anne lost her daughter Elaine Lynn back in 2012 then her adored husband Ted. Her family includes her son-in-law Jim; grandchildren Shannon (Kevin), Randy (Kim), Jennifer (Kevin), Ben, Katie (Ryan), Amy (Owen) and Connor; along with her great-grandchildren Cassandra (Brighton), Bailey (Sam), Samantha (David), Maddie, Emma, Hallie, Candice, Ella, Ryder, Alyse, Brea, Isabella and Cosette; great-great-granddaughter Savanah; and great-great-grandson Amari, all of whom she loved very much.
Many thanks to all the care workers at the Carewest Royal Park, Carewest Sarcee Hospice including her nurses, Dr. Murynka and the staff of the Trinity Lodge In Calgary. Private family services will be held.
