Anthony Mark Luchia

Anthony Mark Luchia, affectionately known as Tony, passed away on January 24, 2025, at the age of 52 in Edmonton, Alberta. He was born on July 1, 1972, in Black Diamond, Alberta.

Tony was a man of humility, courage and compassion for others. He was known for his generosity, often giving of himself even when he had little to spare or if he didn't have what was needed, he'd find a way to ensure you had it.  His love for his family, especially his children, was immense; he cared for them with everything he had in him.

A creative spirit, Tony found joy in building things with his mind and his hands, coupled with a deep love for God and all things spiritual. His passion for life was evident to those who knew him, leaving a lasting impression on friends and family alike.

He is survived by his beloved children: Michael Frencheater of Kelowna, BC; Mark Rutten of Calgary, AB; Shaylee Jacko of Edmonton, AB; Michelle Rutten of Calgary, AB; Anthony Rutten of Calgary, AB; and Dallas Frencheater of Sylvan Lake, AB. Tony is also mourned by his loving sister, Belinda Luchia, and his cherished nephews Damian Luchia of Port Renfrew, BC, and Erin and Daniel Luchia of Calgary, AB, along with his niece Sheralynn Luchia of Calgary, AB. He was a proud uncle to his great nieces, Nevaeh and Kaia of Calgary, AB, and close cousin to Tina, Chantel, and Dylan Conn of Calgary, AB, and many other family members and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Doreen Hayden, and his father, Barry Luchia, along with many aunts and uncles, who will forever hold him in their hearts.

A memorial gathering to honor Tony’s memory will be held on February 7, 2025, at Pierson's Funeral Services, located at 4121 17 Ave SE, Calgary, AB, T2A 0T1. The gathering will begin at 1:00 PM and conclude at 2:00 PM.

Tony Luchia’s legacy will live on through the lives of those he touched with his kindness, humility, and love. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered for the loving man he was.
