Antoinette Clara Johanna Brink

Antoinette (Nettie) Clara Johanna Brink passed away from complications from a stroke on Easter Sunday surrounded by her family at the age of 83 years. Nettie will be remembered for raising her five children as a single parent and was a devout Catholic and member of St Gerard’s Parish, where she did volunteer work for years. She adored her nine grandchildren and was thrilled with her first great granddaughter.

Nettie was born in Tegelen Holland and was the 9th child of eleven siblings. Nettie left her entire family to follow her love from Holland to Calgary in 1954 where she married Hans John Brink in 1955. They had five children together. After their divorce, Nettie continued to work and support her five kids.

She will be lovingly remembered by her five children, Hans (Nancy) Brink, Antoinette (Martin) Wouterse, William Brink, Richard (Shirley) Brink and Yvonne MacArthur; grandchildren Kirstin, Aaron (Katie), Amanda (Ian), Stephanie (Tyrell), Neil, Larissa, Anthony, Jared and Michaela; great granddaughter Hanna; and many more family and friends.

Prayer Service’s will be held for Nettie at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Dr. SW, Calgary) on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the same location on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 11:00 am. Rev Bogdan Sianozacki celebrant.
