Antonio Borrelli

Tony Borrelli passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the age of 79 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years Michelle; their daughters Gina Borrelli, and her children Angelina and Tracy, Ruenda Borrelli (Robert Grey), and her children Tanisha, Tyla (Saad), and Jacob, and her grandchildren Carlina, Isha and Aydin, and daughter Mirella (Darcy) Rast, and their children Reno and Lexi; extended family Lisa (Wayne) Thomas, and their son Cole, Brent (Elizabeth) Faas and their daughters Kate and Stephanie, and Lionel (Lynn) Bateman, and their children Stephanie and Tyler; sister Anna Maria (Mario) La Marca, and their daughter Marissa (Evan) Prokipchuk, and twin grandsons Theo and Mateo; brother John (Emily) Borrelli, and their children Marcella and Vittorio; and many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Giuseppina & Vittorio Borrelli and brother Vincent Borrelli. Tony was born in Aprigliano, Vico, Cosenza, Italy. When he was 13 his family emigrated to Canada where they made Calgary their home, which is where he has lived ever since. He met and married the love of his life Michelle and they were blessed with three beautiful daughters. Tony’s passion was cars, his favourite were Ford Mustangs and his prized possession was his ’61 T-Bird that he picked Michelle up in for their first blind date. He owned his own autobody shop for many years. The most important thing to Tony was his family. He will be missed tremendously by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends as a handsome, charming man with a great sense of humour and a heart larger than life. A Celebration of Tony’s Life will be held at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm, with tributes at 4:00 pm.
