Arthur Joseph “Joe” James Murphy

Joe passed away peacefully on Monday, October 26, 2015 at the age of 67 years with his family by his side. Joe was born in Glace Bay, NS and made a life for himself in Alberta. Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory; his children, John (Haylee), Lisa (Kevin), Joanne (Joey); his grandchildren, Alysha, Micheal, Kyli, Ellie, & Jordyn; his siblings, Mary (Charlie) Lyons, Jimmy (Laurie) Murphy, Robert (Ricki) Murphy. Joe was predeceased by; his father, Arthur Murphy; his mother and stepfather, Mary (Fabe) Howley; and his sister, Marie Gaffney. Joe was a huge fan of sports, particularly baseball and curling. He was a very sociable person and loved spending time in the community. The family would like to thank the caring team of Unit 94 of Foothills Medical Centre who went above and beyond to care for their dad. A Celebration of Life to honor Joe will be held at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Foothills Hospital Foundation Unit 94 1403 29 Street NW Calgary, AB T2N 9Z9
