Athena Saner-Towns left this world suddenly at the age of 5, on October 15, 2021. She is gone too soon, but she lit up our world with light, laughter, and love every day of those five short years.
Athena sang beautifully, loved doing puzzles, was an amazing climber, and made friends with everyone in the room. She knew love and gave love every day of her life, and she is now our Angel.
She blessed the lives of her Mommy, Ashlly Saner and Daddy, Ben Towns; great-grandmother, Anita Saner; grandmas, Denise Saner, Maureen Towns and Debbie Ermel; grandpas, Steve Towns and Roland Sacroug; uncles, Sam Towns, Dylan Lafreniere and Chad Sacroug; aunts, Sydney Towns, Ally Towns and Tiffany McKenzie; great aunt, Sonia Saner and her best friend the crazy kitty, Milo.
It takes a village and we had an awesome one. Ben and Ashlly would like to personally recognize all the friends and family for their support throughout Athena’s life and since.
The family would also like to thank the Children’s Hospital- Pediatric Neurology Clinic, Renfrew Educational Services, Fledglings Educare Center and a special thanks to AHS Paramedics and Calgary Police Services.
A viewing and a time of memories to be shared will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Service (4121- 17th Ave. SE, Calgary) on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 11:00am-2:00pm with her funeral service following the viewing at 2:00pm.
Athena loved bright colors, Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig. Please feel free to pay tribute to Athena’s sense of style by wearing something you think she would love.
