LUFT, Barbara Gail August 21, 1939 April 5, 2012
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara Luft on April 5, 2012, at the age of 72 years. She is survived by her loving brother Barry (Pat) Luft; her niece Corinne (Kelly) King; her nephews Bradley and Jason Luft; and by her grand-niece and nephews Dallis, Tyler, Quentin, Kaeden and Brady. She was predeceased by her parents Peter and Thelma Luft. Barbie was born and raised in Calgary. She grew up in Bridgeland and Sunnyside and then spent some years in Edmonton and Drumheller living with favorite aunts. She returned to her home in Calgary and remained there through the passing of both her parents. It was her unselfish dedication that allowed her mother to spend her final years in her family home. Barb was a zealous soul. She loved whole-heartedly and unfailingly and was almost blind in her faith and trust of others. Her passions were simple and unwavering nothing could spark a heated debate more quickly than a passing comment on the last Stampeders game. She took extreme joy from her nieces and nephews, and later from her grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Memorial Service to be held at Pierson’s Garden of Peace Chapel (16 Ave and Garden Road/100 St NE) on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at 11:00 am. Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family at www.piersons.ca.
