Barbara Marie Percival

PERCIVAL, Barbara Marie (nee Jensen) August 23, 1928 January 2, 2013

Barbara passed away peacefully with family by her side at Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, AB on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the age of 84 years. She is survived by her loving children, Darryl, Barry (Kim), Denise (Ross); grandchildren Jillian and Curtis; many nieces, nephews and extended family; and previous husband and special friend Frank. Barbara is predeceased by her husband Walter “Bud” Percival. Barbara was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, one of three children of Walter and Nellie Jensen. She spent her childhood in Toronto, Ontario and Maple Creek, Saskatchewan before moving permanently to Calgary, Marrying in the 1950’s and raising her three children. During her life, Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and her many cherished pets (Koko, Moose and Bird), homemaking and entertaining for family and friends. She was a devoted mother and wife and enjoyed travelling, spending many days in the outdoors with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed being in the presence of all her family on special occasions and was able to (thankfully from all of us) spend a happy and joyful Christmas 2012 at home with her loving children and grandchildren. She was always there for anyone who needed a hand of guidance or comfort in times of need. Words cannot express how we will all miss you dearly as Mom, Gramma, family, friend, mentor and confidante. You have led all of us by your examples in life and now you will lead the way for us to heaven. A private gathering of family will occur and in memory of Barbara’s life friends and family can make donations to their local Cancer Society.
