Barbara "Nikki" Carole Groves (nee McLean)

Barbara " Nikki" Carole Groves, passed away on February 18, 2024 at her residence after a battle with lung cancer. Born in Montreal in 1957, Barbara lived a life full of laughter, kindness, and saying exactly what was on her mind.

Barbara's career as a truck driver wasn't just about driving trucks; it was about embracing the open road with a spirit of adventure that few could match. 

But Barbara was more than just a truck driver - she was a beacon of light for all who knew her. Her funny bone could rival any stand-up comedian, and her caring nature knew no bounds. Whether she was helping a friend in need or simply lighting up a room with her presence, Barbara's impact was profound.

Outside of trucking, Barbara found solace in the sweet tunes of Tim McGraw and country music. She could often be found singing along to her favorite songs, much to the delight of those around her.

In the hearts of those left behind, Barbara leaves a trail of memories and love. Survived by her  mother, Katherine; sister Joyce; brother, Johnny; Nephews and nieces, Stephane, William, Jessica, Stephanie, Emma, Anna and Paisley;  close friend and caregiver Jean (Scotia),  close friends Jenny and Richard, as well as her two furbabies, Brina and Knickers. Barbara's spirit lives on in each one of them.

Barbara was predeceased by her  husband, Matthew; and her sister, Carole.

As we say goodbye to Barbara, let us remember her not with tears, but with the same joy and laughter that she brought into our lives. Rest easy, dear friend - may your journey on that endless highway be as smooth as can be.

There will be a visitation at Pierson's funeral service ( 4121-17 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB) on February 21, 2024 starting at 3:00pm
