Berenice was pre-deceased by her husband Abram Wiebe; her Step son Michael Shane Wiebe, her siblings: Doreen and George Bell, and her granddaughter; Alexandra Marie Fallon.
Berenice was born in Winnipeg, MB on October 29, 1934 to Alberta and Lionel Bell. She affectionately gained the nickname “Bunny” when she was just a young girl from her Grandmother; Who noticed she wiggled her nose like a bunny rabbit. The nickname stuck with her for most of her life.
Bunny loved school and gaining knowledge; She loved math, accounting and Latin; the last of which helped her tremendously with crossword puzzles, (the New York Times being her favorite) something she loved to do. Berenice always loving a challenge; enjoyed logic and regular puzzles. The bigger the better! In fact her son Douglas built her a puzzle table top out of a vehicle hood box. Because she actually didn’t have a table big enough to do some of the puzzles she had received as gifts over the years.
She was also well known for her baby and doll clothes that she knitted with care. Every new baby born for decades would have a brand new knitted outfit from Bunny. She would fashion new sweaters for her family and slippers were a stocking stuffer everyone could count on.
In later years, Bunny took up cross stitching which quickly became one of her favorite past times. She would gift much of her work to her family and friends.
She loved Hawaii. After travelling there with her husband, Abram for their tenth anniversary she returned with a full closet of moo moos. Which she lived out the rest of her days wearing them as they became her favorite and only outfit.
Most importantly, Bunny was the glue that brought her family together for all occasions. She loved to laugh and always greeted you at the door with a contagious smile. Which unmistakably told you she was genuinely happy to see you. There was always lots of food and if she had it her way; Lots of games.
Bunny will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
