With profound sorrow, the family announces the passing of Betty in Calgary, AB at the age of 92 after a sudden and brief illness. She is survived by her loving husband, William; sons, Alan Norton and David (Cheryl) Krug of Calgary, AB; eldest sister, Minnie Van Meerveld of Duncan, BC. She is predeceased by her parents, Henry and Minnie Luxford; sister, Maud (Duncan) Grant; son, Glenn Widgell; and granddaughter, Alana Lea Norton. Betty grew up and was educated in the Ramsay District. She was a two time cancer survivor. She was a proud member of the Calgary General R.V. Club and Forge Road Seniors. She was married for 46 years to William, and she was a dedicated wife. A woman of faith, she was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She took great pride in being a loving mother to her three sons. Her passion was camping and she’s gone to explore a new place. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary, AB.
