Brian Michael Stewart

Brian Stewart, beloved husband, dad, papa, and uncle, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at the age of 74. Brian will be deeply and sadly missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda of Calgary, Alberta; his children, Lana (Neran) Stewart of Bergen, Alberta, Stephanie (Scott) Stewart of Coquitlam, British Columbia, Suzanne Stewart, Rainy (Angela) Stewart, Reynolds Blackwater and Khali Stewart all of Calgary, Alberta; his four grandchildren, Rylen, Brenden, Amelia, and Theodore; as well as numerous other relatives and dear friends. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Erminie and Samuel Stewart; and brothers, Garry and Grant Stewart.

Brian will forever be remembered as an avid baseball fan and hockey fan. It was common to find him and at least one of his children in the living room of their family home watching a Blue Jays or Calgary Flames game and trading quips about the state of the game. Brian was a former curler, softball player, and slo-pitch umpire. He and his wife shared a passion for helping children, and together were foster parents over four decades.

Brian retired from Sears Canada in 2010 with over 30 years of service. He was a member of the major appliances department and known for his kind and honest approach to working with customers.

His family would like to thank the kidney transplant unit at the Foothills Hospital, the staff who cared for him at the Foothills, Peter Lougheed and Rocky View Hospitals, and the nursing staff at Hillcrest Extended Care.
