It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carl Pelletier, on Thursday September 29, 2022, at the age of 46. Carl was born June 2, 1976, in Melville, Saskatchewan and was raised in Calgary, Alberta.
Growing up Carl was an avid soccer and football player, who played out his football years as a Saint at St. Mary’s High School. Upon graduation, Carl moved to Antigonish, Nova Scotia and attended St. Francis Xavier University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) – Accounting and Economics. With his business degree in hand and a desire to make a positive change in the world, Carl began an internship with Coady International which took him to Bungoma, Kenya. Working for the Kenyan Agricultural Commodity Exchange, he was able to help usher in a farming cooperative to support local farmers. After six months abroad, Carl returned to Calgary to begin his career and start his family.
Carl was a proud member of the Cree Nation, and most of all a proud Native father to his son Caelem. Caelem was the light of Carl’s life and the two loved spending their time together visiting the mountains, hiking, swimming, bike riding, watching their favourite shows, playing video games, collecting hot wheels and comics, and eating won ton soup.
Carl was predeceased by his Grandmother Rose, Papa Art, and several other close family members. Carl leaves behind his son Caelem (his mother, Marta), his mom Marie, stepfather Ed “Irish”, sister Courtney (Chad), niece Zoey, father Carl (Jeanette), half-brother Carson, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of Carl’s life will be held at the Forest Lawn Legion (755 40 St SE, side entrance) on Tuesday October 11, 2022, between 2:00pm and 4:00pm. We invite you to wear your favourite sports jersey or Star Wars attire, as a tribute to Carl and the things he loved.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial tributes can be made directly to Sunrise Healing Lodge. e-transfer donations to
