It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Carl Jacob Mintzler, who left this world on March 26, 2023, in Calgary, Alberta. Carl was born at the Pasqua Hospital on April 28, 1960, in Regina, Saskatchewan. Carl spent his childhood and early education at Walker and Benson Elementary. He later attended Luther College and Martin Collegiate partially completing his secondary schooling.
Carl eventually became a carpenter, having learned the basics from his father while building a new family home in Regina. Carl pursued various jobs throughout his life and traveled extensively. From working at a pickle factory in Newmarket, Ont., to jobs in Red Deer, where he worked at Travelaire Trailer, and other local enterprises. He later moved to Bowden, AB, where he continued with more carpentry work and forming work for cement basements. In his final years, Carl resided in Calgary, AB, where he worked at odd jobs until his unfortunate health decline, rendering him unable to work.
Carl was an independent individual who enjoyed doing things on his own and at his own pace. He was a passionate collector of rare and fascinating objects.
