Carol Jean Wright Lee passed away peacefully on May 3, 2015. Carol was born on September 10, 1930 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of George and Lora Wright. She was predeceased by her husband, Art Lee, her daughter Linda Ausmus and her brother Ronald Wright. She is survived by her four sons, Gary (Judi) and Murray (Leslie) of Calgary, Michael (Barbara) of Walnut Creek, California and Darren (Shae) of Alpine Utah, her son-in-law Doug Ausmus of Calgary, twenty nine grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren, as well as by her sister Jolene Hansen and brother Vestell Wright. Carol spent her youth in Ogden, Utah and then attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where she met and married Art on May 10, 1951. Art and Carol moved to Calgary in 1954 where they raised their five children. Their marriage was characterized by deep love and unwavering commitment. They worked together in business, at home and at church. Together they celebrated much joy and success, and endured trials and tragedy with grace and perseverance. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother. Carol was an accomplished pianist, organist and vocalist and taught piano lessons in her home for many years. She served tirelessly and effectively in numerous teaching and leadership capacities in her church and in the community. Carol was loved by her children, grandchildren and all who knew her for her selfless service, her kindness, and her luminous smile. For those wishing to pay their respects a viewing will be held at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel, (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Friday May 8 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 17 Avenue Stake Centre (2021 – 17 Avenue SW, Calgary) on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 11:00 am. A viewing will also be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
