Carolyn Mildren Goldthorpe

Carolyn Goldthorpe passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the age of 75 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Margaret (Noel) Quinn, of Lethbridge, AB, Francis Elson, of Calgary, AB, and Bonny (Doug) Henderson, of Calgary, AB; sister-in-law Violet Plant, of Coaldale, AB; very special friend Naomi Letourneau, of Calgary, AB; numerous nieces and nephews, and many more family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Oliver & Mildred Plant and brothers James and Robert. Carolyn was born to Oliver & Mildred Plant in Brooks, AB on June 14, 1944. She was raised in the Brooks area. She married Norman Goldthorpe and moved to Veteran, AB and then later moved to Calgary, where she worked as an LPN in various health centers. She was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her life revolved around family, friends and her church. She also enjoyed watching curling and loved knitting and crocheting. A Funeral Service will be held for Carolyn at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – 44th Street Chapel (833 – 44 Street SE, Calgary) on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 11:00 am, with viewing starting at 10:00 am. Interment will follow the service at the Nanton Cemetery (Nanton, AB). If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Diabetes Canada (www.diabetes.ca/donate).
