Chris was born at the General Hospital in Calgary on February 7, 1982. As a young boy he was full of mischievous behaviour, like the day he snuck into his soon to be aunty’s house and delved into her homemade pie she had sitting cooling for that evening’s supper, so proud of himself! eating handfuls at a time.

In kindergarten he would barely make it through the day. We

would find him sleeping on the front sidewalk in Pineridge where we lived, completely tuckered out. While his sister Michelle walked by him giggling. Most of Chris’ school years were spent in Calgary and Airdrie, AB. He followed his big sister Michelle around trying to find his place and was thankful to have her watch out for him as he was small for his age. Cadets was a big part of his early years, which he loved learning all about. He “did not like authority” or rules, but he did love to learn and spend time with his peers.

In Chris’ younger years he worked with several arborist companies and learned all he could about tree work. He also took care of friends who needed yard help. He was very talented at seeing the bigger picture and how it would all come together, even if we didn’t.

Chris’s biggest enjoyment was fishing, whether it be on land, ice, or by boat. His biggest challenge was to outdo his Grandpa Harte by catching the best/biggest fish. Chris taught his little sister Kara everything he knew about fishing and it soon became a loving competition between them. She even taught him a thing or two, although he would never admit it. Another love for Chris was cooking and baking and sharing it with all those who would enjoy the fruits of his labour. He was taught young by his mother and grandmother (Harte). Again he would jokingly compete with his sister Kara about who’s pie crust was better. She secretly enjoyed every minute of it. Chris spent many years working as a cook. He found it very challenging, but satisfying. Over the years he worked in camps, fishing lodges, and many pubs and restaurants cooking and prepping.

Chris loved animals and had several cats over the years. But his biggest love was Bugsy named after The Movie “Kingsmen”. The funniest thing he did was teach Bugsy to fetch candy and put it back in the candy dish … so funny.

Chris was loved by all of his nieces and nephews, while heartache and emptiness reside they will reminisce in the countless hours of being taught their “funcle” Chris’ ways! Aunties, uncles and friends alike, will miss, and most certainly, never forget him.

Note from Dad: I taught you many lessons in life, but I have always been very proud of who you were and the internal drive you had to succeed at such a young tender age, Chris you never liked to inconvenience anyone, and in all your years you didn’t Son; you had a heart of golden generosity, and I loved you!!!

~ Dad

Note from Mom: From the moment I held my precious blue bundle, to the 41 years I had you in my life, my heart has been full. I don’t know how to say goodbye to you, while left to live without you. I have been a very proud and endearing Mom, who has witnessed firsthand, the many countless times your love, generosity and thoughtfulness have touched those whom you loved and cared about. I will miss you my loving Son, for the boy you were, wearing your big heart always on your sleeve and being forever grateful, you always felt you could tell me anything… Even all that other stuff.

~ Lovingly, Mom♥
