Christopher William Mathie , age 35, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022 in Calgary, Alberta.
Chris leaves behind his two children, Brylynn and McKenna Mathie; his father Russell Mathie; mother Marlene Fidler; stepmother Marcie Graham; brother Michael (Amber) Mathie; sister Brittanie (Michel) Chabot; uncles, Tim(Cheri) Mathie and John Mathie; nieces Mariah and Madalyn; nephews, Hayden, Harrison, Michael Jr. Dayton and Tyson.
Chris has been reunited with his grandma, Lola Fehr and longest best friend / brother, Jason Griggs.
Chris never wanted to be defined only by his addiction and mistakes. He had a heart of gold, was an amazing son, brother, protector, and friend to so many.
His infectious smile always warmed your heart and made you feel welcome.
Chris and his siblings had the privilege of growing up on the Gulf of Mexico in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. At an early age, Chris loved fishing and being on the water. He also enjoyed playing baseball, dirt biking and fixing anything he could get his hands on.
Chris loved his daughters and family deeply, even through his battles. Addiction steals away so much and doesn’t have remorse to anyone. Please remember Chris for who he was as a person before addiction stole him away. We will always love you Chris.
A gathering to remember and celebrate Chris will commence at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Pierson’s Funeral Chapel, 4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta.
Hugs from home can be submitted under the resources tab.
