It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Clifford Junghans on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the age of 80 years. He was the soul mate, best friend and husband of 56 years to Darlene; precious father to Monica (Trevor) Layng, Coreena (Wayne) Taylor, Janette (Tyson) Lybbert, Sheila (Mindo) Laurinaitis and Stephanie Van Lissum. He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Rebecca, Jen (Dustin), Christian, Kyla (Aaron), Alycia, Katelynn (Taylor), Austin, Shania (Cody), Darlene (Ryan), Hope (Chey), Heather (Tariq), Adison, Bracen, Rylee, and Paige; great grandchildren Alexis, Dylan, Morgan, Jayden, Khloe, Hannah, Greyson, Willow, Elijah, Dominic, Dallas, T.J. and Jace; sisters Marg and Kathy (Aart); brother George (Pat); brother-in-law Richard Bouvier; numerous nieces and nephews; and many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, five sisters, son Gregory, grandson Justin, and son-in-law Emil.
Clifford was born and raised in Whitemouth, MB. He had numerous jobs in many places such as a brick yard, egg plant, road construction, Pinawa power plant, peatmoss plant and school custodian in Beausejour. He married the love of his life on December 17, 1965. The family moved to Calgary in 1975 where he worked on siding until his retirement. In retirement he babysat his granddaughter for 5 years. His passions were hunting with his buddies, bowling, family camping, and trips to Disney World Florida, Disneyland California, Cuba, and Vegas.
A Visitation will be held for Clifford at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Due to the City of Calgary Bylaw, attendance at the visitation will require the qr code for proof of vaccination, a negative covid test or a medical exemption letter and photo ID. A Funeral Service was scheduled for Friday, December 17, 2021 has been cancelled. The rescheduled service details will be announced at a later date.
