Our darling, kind, talented and handsome son was taken from us much too soon. Colton James Albert Meaden died suddenly in Kalispell Montana on June 9, 2019. He is survived by his loving parents, Christine and Bryan Meaden, his beloved brother and best friend Levi and Levis girlfriend, Ariel. Like all of us, his grandparents, Wilma Halstrom and Bernice Meaden were easily talked into anything, swayed by his infectious grin. Doting Wilma even got a matching tattoo and Bernices home made buns were available upon arrival. Colton loved people, being surrounded by his Uncles – Jim, Terry and Dennis – his Aunts – Auralee, Denice and Kim- and a bunch of fun cousins – Kalen, Brett and Emma, Kelsey, Jordan and Tim, Sheridan, Grayson and Tracy, Clay, Tanner and April, Grant and Bec and, Heidi. His new family, Dawn, Jenny, Brandi, Shiree and Cory, were coming to know and embrace him as well. Others were always drawn to Colton, his amicable nature and his leadership – a host of friends – sports fans of all types – joined him on every adventure. As a big man who lived big, a wonderful day for Colton included a bit of a sleep in, some down time researching his next engineered invention or gaming and, of course, an experience – hockey, hiking, fishing, rafting, climbing, horseback riding…, followed by a home-cooked meal often with his Mama or his Pops. We know he would wish big days for us all. He will be watching to make sure that we, too, live large and seize what is possible.
Colton is predeceased by his grandfathers, Arnold Halstrom, Al McEwan and Albert Meaden as well as his uncle Glenn Lillyman.
We will celebrate Colton, his light and his life, on Tuesday June 18 at 2:00 pm at Centre Street Church, 3900 2 St NE, Calgary, AB.
Thank you for welcoming Colton into your hearts and for honouring our son.
