Corrien Gaye Klasson

KLASSON, Corrien Gaye December 12, 1953 – June 16, 2014 It is with heavy hearts that the family of Corrien “Cori” Klasson announces her sudden passing on June 16, 2014 at the age of 60 years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Colin (Kim) Jones, Eryn (Dan) Malin, and Cody Jones (Crystal Young), all of Calgary, AB; her grandchildren, Tristen Jones, Ty Jones, and Quinn Malin, all of Calgary, AB; her siblings, Launette (Ron) Kathol of Rockyford, AB, Denise Clarke-Ames of Sechelt, BC, Cindy Klasson of Edmonton, AB, and Marlon Klasson (Leslie Crook) of Trenton, ON; her aunts, Norma and Blanche; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Corrien was predeceased by her parents, Wanda Torkelson and Vern Klasson. Although Cori was a quiet soul, she took interest in the lives of everyone she knew. She enjoyed the sounds of Bluegrass music, and an affinity for turtles which could be matched by no other. Her children were her hatchlings and her home became a resting spot for a bale of turtles. Cori was employed with Petrogas Energy Corp.; she immensely enjoyed her work and colleagues. The family would sincerely like to thank Petrogas Energy Corp. for their incredible support through this heartbreaking time. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 4:00-7:00p.m. at the Forest Lawn United Church, 2236 35 St S.E., Calgary, AB.
