Debbra Lois "Brokum" Romney

Lois Romney passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 at the Rockyview Hospital at the age of 65 years. She will be dearly missed by her daughter Marie Colbert (William Sutton) of Cold Lake, AB; grandson Jarod Colbert; grand-daughter Nicole Sutton; parents Al and Edmee Comstock of Calgary; and two sisters Theresa Thompson of Calgary and Laura Lee Comstock of St. Albert; nieces, nephews; and a large circle of friends. Lois was predeceased by her son Cory Colbert, grandson Jay Mooney and brother Dwight Thompson.

Lois was born and raised in St. Boniface, Manitoba, moving to Calgary while young. She became a mother at a young age giving birth to Marie. While pregnant with Cory, she was diagnosed with that same Cancer that affected Terry Fox. She found herself working for the City of Calgary where she found her footing and worked for over 30 years. Not only was she able to support her children, but became fearless. Lois learned to golf, ski and take on tasks that others would shy away from. In time, Lois discovered Mexico and fell in love. She loved the weather, the beaches, the food and the easy going Mexican way of life, spending as much time there as she could. Lois will be remembered for her perseverance and the inspiration she was to all around her. 

Private family services will be held at a later date. Cremation at Foothills Crematorium.
