On Monday, March 4, 2024, Deborah (Debbie) Chapman (nee Sproston), beloved wife of Richard Chapman of Calgary, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the age of 69 years. She was surrounded by her family the whole afternoon at the Foothills Medical Centre.
Debbie was born and raised in Châteauguay, Quebec, later came to Calgary in 1989. She had various jobs in Calgary. The last fifteen years of Debbie's working career was at the Calgary Board of Education at the Chinook Learning Services. She truly enjoyed working there. While her daughters were growing up, Debbie was involved in the Girl Guides movement and served in the leadership role of Brownie Leader. Both Richard and Debbie enjoyed their camping trips which started when they were a young couple backpacking in the back country.
Besides her loving husband Richard, Debbie will be sadly missed by her daughters Tammie and her husband Will Christ, Hollie and her husband Shawn Trochim, Brenda Chapman; her grandchildren Hector Christ, Emma Trochim; her siblings Robert Sproston and his wife Arlene, Patricia (Tricia) and her husband Walter Jaggers, Valerie and her husband Daniel Letourneau; and numerous other family, relatives and friends.
Debbie was predeceased by two grandchildren Linus Christ, Logan Trochim; parents Barbara (Pat) and Norman Sproston; and brother Phillip Sproston.
A Funeral Service for Debbie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Pierson's Funeral Service (4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary). Interment will take place at Prairie Sky Cemetery (12800 - 100 Street SE, Calgary).
