With deep sadness we announce the passing of Deborah Lynn Fritzler on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 58.
The youngest of five children born to Victor and Mabel Lutes and was raised in Calgary, Alberta. Throughout her life, Deborah embodied hard work, dedication, and love for her family. After attending Career College right out of high school, on March 6, 1985, Deborah built a successful and fulfilling career at AON, where she was just shy of celebrating her 40th anniversary with the company. Deborah held the position of Vice President, Senior Claims Consultant, a role that she dedicated herself to with passion and excellence.
Aside from the job she loved, her family was the cornerstone of her life. She cherished time with her loving husband, Brian, whom she was married to for 27 years, but were together for 42 years. Their family of four included two sons, Cody and Braeden. Though she had an appreciation for flowers, Deborah was the first to admit that it was Brian who had the green thumb, and she simply delighted in their beauty. When she wasn’t working, Deborah enjoyed curling up with a good book.
Deborah’s love for life extended to the simple joys, including trips to bingo with her mother, Wendy, and her close friend Lois P. She had a soft spot for horses, but there was nothing she loved more than her loyal dogs: Zoey, Xena, and Minx. These furry companions held a special place in her heart, offering her endless comfort and joy.
Deborah’s legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering commitment to both her family and her work will be remembered with great fondness and admiration.
Deborah will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Brian; sons, Cody and Braeden; parents, Victor and Mabel Lutes; siblings, Wayne (Kari) Lutes, Donna Dokken, Wendy Phillips (Bill Wilson); mother-in-law and father-in-law, Phil and Ruth Fritzler; sister-in-law Sherry (Dale) Borchert; sister-in-law, Sandra Holmes; numerous nieces, nephews and extended Fritzler and Lutes family members.
She was predeceased by her brother, Kelly Grant Lutes (September 2024); brother-in-law, Asa Miller; nephew, Clinton Lutes; and brother-in-law, David Fritzler.
