Dora Belle Corbett

Dora Brooks Corbett M.Ed. b.Nov.16, 1928 to Wanda and Fred Brooks of Hillspring Ab. d. March 25, 2017. Survived by Husband, Bill (married 67 years); sons Tom, Ken, Rod and daughter Sally; foster daughters Carol and Michelle; grandchildren Robb, Audrya, Joan, Heather, Karen, Brooke, Emilie, Nadine; gr.grandchildren Eli, Sophia, Liam, Cosette, Hendrix, Macoy, Canon, Ryder, Brynlee, Nash, Orion.; sisters Myrna, Nola, brother Gaile. Dora was loved for her thoughtfulness and generosity. She enjoyed good friends, travel, opera, quilting, and bridge. Dora’s career in Education spanned some 35 years starting at Bentley (where she met Bill), Sedgewick and then with the CBE at several elementary schools and concluding as the first principal of Banting-Best. She was active in ATA and served as a president of ARTA. Throughout her illness, Dora received loving care at home from family, and huge thanks are extended to Home Care nurses Jacqui, Irene, Megan, and to CBI helpers. Her final day was made comfortable at Agape Hospice. On Friday, April 7 at 1 pm., a celebration of her life will be held at the Parkdale Community centre (Nifty-Fifties Seniors), 3512- 5th Ave. S.W. Calgary.
