Doris Pearl Hayes

HAYES, Doris “Pearl” – April 4, 1920 December 1, 2014 It is with utmost sadness that we announce that Doris Pearl Hayes (nee Hogg) passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 at the age of 94 due to a hard-fought battle with pneumonia. Pearl, as she preferred to be called, was born in Galt, Ontario in 1920 and married Roland Hayes in 1946. They resided in Guelph, Ontario for many years before moving to Espanola, Ontario in 2007. Pearl moved from Espanola to Calgary, Alberta in May of 2011. She was predeceased by her son Norman in April of 2006, husband Roland in December of 2007, and son Richard in August of 2011. Pearl will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her daughter-in-law Sharon Hayes; her grandsons Nolan Hayes of Calgary, Nathan Hayes and Dustin Hayes and their mother Roxanne of Medicine Hat, Alberta as well as her many friends and relatives. Thank you to the doctors and staff on Unit 62 at Foothills Hospital for the loving care and kindness they showed to Pearl while she was a patient there. Inurnment to take place at a later date in Espanola, Ontario. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (#200 – 325 Manning Road NE Calgary, AB T2E 2P5).
