Dorothy Lucile Funk (Greenlaw)

Dorothy Funk (Greenlaw) passed away on Wednesday July 24, 2024 at the age of 74 years. 

Dorothy is survived by her children, Robert (Tracy), Carrie-Lynn (Brad), Brian (Miranda); 13 grandchildren, Thomas (Danika), B.J., Richard (Unique), Tierra-Lynn (Richard), Zachary (Savannah), Kelvin (Tanisha), Devone, Tyvanna, Daliah, Brantley, Okaley, Paisley & Sam; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Douglas, Jim (Lilian), Betty (Anthony), Donna Mae. She is predeceased by her husband, Glenn; ex-husband, Robert; brother, Douglas; sister, Donna Mae; her parents, Violet & Jack; stepfather, John; and one great-grandson, Asher. 

Dorothy was born in Menisino, Manitoba on May 21st 1950, to Violet and Jack. The Funk family moved to Olds, Alberta to a piece of farm land when Dorothy was 2 years old. Dorothy had many fond memories of the time she spent growing up on the farm. Soon after the loss of her sister Donna Mae, the family packed up and moved to Calgary, Alberta. In Calgary, Dorothy met Robert, her soon to be first husband, with whom she had 3 spirited children - Robert James, Carrie-Lynn, and Brian Wayne. They stayed in Calgary for quite some time, where Dorothy ran a small day home, making a career for herself in child care, which she enjoyed thoroughly. Dorothy eventually separated from Robert, and soon after met her second husband, Glenn. Glenn and Dorothy spent 16 loving years together. Dorothy loved to spend her time crocheting, knitting, and crafting with diamond art. She enjoyed sharing simple moments with her children, making her grand children laugh, and spending time with her dog, Lulu.

A Funeral Service will be held for Dorothy at Pierson's Funeral Service (4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00am
