Duane Neville, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the age of 87 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years Doreen; daughters Dana (Kevin) Stone and Karen (David) Work; seven grandchildren Kristine Smyth, Kyle Stone, Kandace Smith, Meagan Cooper, Carl Work, Brett Work and Hillary Winn; seventeen great grandchildren; sisters Connie Giesbrecht and LaRee Buehler; numerous nieces and nephews; and many more family and friends. Duane was born the 4th of six children in Mountain View, AB where he learned to love nature, work hard and serve God. The family moved to Vulcan, AB when he was 9 which is where he met the love of his life Doreen Sather. They were married in 1952 when they both lived in Calgary. Duane completed his training in drafting at SAIT. After his training he worked for and later started his own window supply company. Duane was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many leadership positions where his unique quality of selfless service and unconditional love for others brought joy and endearment to those he served. After Duane retired, he continued to work, spending his leisure time with his family and friends. His greatest joy was his family and his life centered on them. Duane will be lovingly remembered for his quick wit, storytelling and his kind compassionate spirit. His family would like to express their gratitude to those that cared for him with such compassion the past months. A Celebration of Duane’s life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – North Stake Center (5927 Tipton Road NW, Calgary) on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 10:00 am.
