With overwhelming sadness and much love, we mourn the passing of Lisa Gallup on Monday, July 10, 2023, at South Campus Hospital in Calgary, from cancer. She leaves behind her loving family; husband, Scott; their children, Nathan of Pincher Creek, Anna (Ryan) Running Rabbit of Calgary, Rebecca and her fiancé, Malcolm Archibald of Idaho and Holly of Calgary; parents, Paul & Bev McCracken of Sherwood Park; sisters, Caylie (Greg) of Osoyoos, Sarah of Edmonton and brother, John (Jen) of Cranbrook; as well as the extended Gallup family. She was devoted to her nephews and nieces.
Lisa was born in Edmonton and raised in Sherwood Park where she was fortunate to have many good friends. She attended the University of Alberta and graduated as a dental hygienist. Lisa and Scott were married in August 1991 and were delighted when Nathan was born in 1995. After Scott graduated from dentistry in 1997, they relocated to Okotoks, where three beautiful daughters were born. Anna in 1998, Rebecca in 2001 and Holly in 2003.
Lisa was a determined, strong, kind, and generous person, always putting her beloved family’s wants and needs first. She had a deep faith in her Saviour, Jesus Christ. She had many gifts and talents. She was always a runner and liked to participate in marathons and triathlons. Lisa’s passions were skiing, and playing her violin, whether accompanying, teaching, performing solos, playing in the symphony, but especially loved bluegrass which brought her so much joy and happiness. Lisa often enjoyed hiking trails near their cherished Fernie cabin, bear spray in hand, and found beauty in nature, especially the spring flowers.
Thank you everyone who prayed, sent flowers, food, gifts and cards. We are so very grateful for your support.
