Elizabeth Georgina Fiebelkorn

It is with great sadness that the family of Georgina Fiebelkorn announce her recent passing at the age of 93 at the Skyview Aged Care facility where she resided for the last several months of her life. A beloved daughter, sister, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother will be greatly missed.

Georgina was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta to Elizabeth (Betty) and George Lynch who were very active in the local Salvation Army chapter. Following her high school graduation Georgina was accepted into the nursing program at the Salvation Army Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she met and later married Albert Fiebelkorn in January 1954. Over the next several years they added four children to the family; Patricia (1954), Bryan (1956), Larry (1961) and Ronald (1963). The family then moved in 1963 to Lethbridge and then later in 1964 to Calgary, Alberta.

Her nursing career started at the Foothills Hospital six months after it's opening where Georgina worked the night shift on a surgical unit 72 until her retirement in 1992. Her retirement years were spent enjoying and being with her grandchildren; Wade and Jacob (Ron), Keira and Steven (Larry) and Jessica (Bryan).

Georgina is survived by her brother Eldin (Janet) Lynch of Coaldale, Alberta; daughter Patricia of Calgary; sons Bryan (Chona) of White Rock, British Columbia, Larry (Leah) of Calgary, and Ron (Robyn) of Lumby, British Columbia, grandchildren Keira (Luke) Whitely of Caley, Alberta., Steven Fiebelkorn of Calgary, Jessica Pura of Richmond, British Columbia., Wade and Jacob Tearne of Lumby, British Columbia; great-grandson Noah Whitely; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, too many to list.

Georgina was predeceased by her parents Betty and George Lynch, infant sister Kathleen and husband Albert.

A memorial service will be held at the Ascension Lutheran Church (1432-19 Street NE, Calgary) at 1:00 p.m. on April 26, 2025. In lieu of flowers the family requested you donate to your favorite charity in Georgina's honor.
