Ella Mae Rees

Ella Rees passed away with her husband of 61 years, “Spud”, holding her hand on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the age of 78 years in Calgary, AB. Throughout her life she was very social and maintained an active lifestyle. She enjoyed bowling, playing fastball, and regularly dancing with Spud. Ella will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family which includes her husband, Elwyn; her sons Cameron, Ronald, Daryl (Michelle), and Kelvin (Gayle); her grandchildren Marc, Julianna, Christina, Janine (Adrian), and Dominic; siblings Stanley, Albert, Rita, and Lillian; her close cousin Elaine High; and her very dear friends Ramona and Harold Boettger. Ella was predeceased by her parents and her three siblings Gladys, Leonard, and Lorene. Ella was quite the outdoors enthusiast who enjoyed camping and fishing. When she was not spending time with her many friends she enjoyed baking and cooking for her family. In the quiet moments she loved to do needlepoint and crochet. She will be missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life to honor her life will be held at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel on Saturday April 30, 2016 from 1 – 4 PM.
