Elmer “Fudd” James Horton

November 1, 1957 — January 16, 2016

Fudd Horton passed away at home surrounded by his wife and children on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the age of 58 years in Calgary, AB. Fudd was an individual that could help you see the bright side and put a smile back on your face. He enjoyed going for long drives and listening to music off all types, he was an eclectic music listener. He definitely had a sick sense of humor that most people grew to appreciate and love, combining that with his jokester personality, he was a blast to spend time with. Looking good was important and he made sure his hair was done just right each morning before leaving for work. Fudd loved his family and ensured they were looked after, for this reason you did not mess with his family otherwise you answered to him. Fudd will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of his family. He will be lovingly remember by his wife of 30 years, Deanna Horton; his children Trevor (Elisa) Beatch, Troy (Pam Hill) Beatch, Alicia (Eric) Derry, Samantha (Scott) Garcia, Katie Beatch, and Tiffany Leikam; his grandchildren Taylor Wilson, Jordyn Gratto, Keila Beatch, Carlie Beatch, Tetra Beatch, Demeon Derry, Ivvy Derry, Zackary Garcia, and Michael Hoffman-Beatch; his siblings Ila (Brian) Hopkins and Harry Horton; his extended family Kathy Beatch, Candice Hoffman, and Nicole Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Fudd was predeceased by his parents Elmer (Sr) and Emily Horton; sister Rita Horton; and brother David Horton. A Funeral Service will be held for Fudd at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Fudd will be laid to rest in Queen’s Park Cemetery, Calgary AB following the service. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made in Fudd’s name to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre (1331 29 Street Northwest, Calgary, AB T2N 4N2).
