Erik Gordon Carter

Erik Carter, of Calgary, passed away December 31, 2011 at the age of 29. He is survived by his fiance Carling Hovde; his mother Anna Nielsen all of Calgary; his father John Carter (Sandy Clemis) of Medicine Hat; his brother Brody Carter (Anja Dukic); his stepbrothers Kris Clemis-Love (Lisa Clemis-Love) and Kasey Clemis; and grandfather Erik Nielsen (Ada). Erik is also survived by uncles Bent Nielsen (Gudren) and Jan Nielsen; his aunts Diane Smith (Roger) and Jeanne Carter Denton (John); his cousins Kevin (Jessalyn), Greg, Kelley and Ashley; and special friends Tyler Shatz and Matt Dalhouse; and Carling’s parents Dwayne & Ronda Hovde and brother Justin. Erik was an avid sports, music and food lover. His passion and love for hockey, golf, all types of music, playing drums, attending music festivals, cooking and trying out the hottest hot sauce he could find was always contagious and inspiring. He will be dearly missed! A trust fund has been set up in Erik’s name to help raise money in support of music education. Contributions may be made to the Erik Carter trust fund at your nearest TD Canada branch. A memorial service in his honour will be held on Saturday, January 7th at 11:00 am at Pierson’s Funeral Service, 4121 17 Avenue SE. Please dress casual and wear red & white.
