Eugenia Haliw
December 27, 1931 — June 3, 2023
Eugenia Haliw passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the age of 91 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Ostap Haliw, cousin Bohdan (Laurie) Maslak, and many more family and friends in Canada, Ukraine, United States and Croatia. She was predeceased by her brothers Petro Haliw, Fedir Haliw and Ivan Haliw and sister Yulia Haliw.
Eugenia was born and raised in Ukraine. She completed her post secondary education graduating as a Geologist and Petroleum Engineer. She left Ukraine in 1976 and eventually made Calgary home for her and her son Ostap, which is where they have lived ever since. In Calgary she worked as a Senior Geologist for Suncor and then BP. In her free time, Eugenia enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, crafts.
Eugenia’s cremated remains are being taken back to Ukraine so that she can be laid to rest in her country of birth. A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
