Francis John Willmott

It is with great sadness that the family of Francis John Willmott announces his passing on June 10, 2014 at the age of 96 years. John will be dearly missed by his three children, Julia (Alan) Field of Calgary, Brenda (James) Haughton of Surrey, BC, and Andrew (Lisa) Willmott of Vernon, BC; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Justin, Jacqueline, Catherine, Jessica, Adam, Amanda, Ashley and Vanessa; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Monica Wonnacott of Calgary; and many other relatives and friends. John was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Audrey Willmott, on January 2, 2011; and his siblings, Phyllis, Albert, Doris, andAgnes. John was born and raised in Launceston, Cornwall, England and moved to Calgary with his family in 1967. The love of gardening and animals were among John’s many interests. He was a devoted husband and father and always stayed close to his family and faith which saw him through many difficult times. He was dearly loved by his family and many friends. Funeral Services to be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 2:00pm at the Bow Valley Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2526 24 Ave N.W. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in John’s memory to the SPCA, 4455 – 110 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB T2C 2T7.
