Garth Tyler Deroche

Garth DeRoche passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the age of 66 years. Garth was born on February 23, 1949 in Lindsey, Ontario. Garth was a family man with a loving and gentle soul that loved to spend time with each of his family members. He will be missed by each of them. The family was sad to see him go but they know that he is rejoicing with the angels in heaven. Laura and Garth had a wonderful life together and for the past 44 years they did everything together, which included having a wonderful marriage of 43 years. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Laura; his four children Adrian (Tomoko) and their son Elijah, Scott (Kori), Seena, and Orrin (Jolane); his siblings Tim (Tammy), Tommy, Darcy (Michelle), Glenda Ewan, and Janice (Buddy) Burlotte. Garth was predeceased by his parents, Barbara and Albert. In the early 80’s he accepted Jesus into his heart and was a strong Christian man. He was quite involved with the Crowsnest Lake Bible Camp and directed many camps. He enjoyed tinkering on vehicles, spending time in the woods hunting and fishing. He loved to watch hockey and to cheer on the Calgary Flames. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association www.diabetes.ca or The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta www.heartandstroke.ab.ca. A Celebration of Life will be held for Garth at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 2:00 pm.
