After a long and hard-fought battle with complications arising from Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Gary passed at 84 years of age. He will be joining his two sons Vincent Mark and Billy Roy in Heaven.
Gary leaves to mourn his wife of 62 years Gloria; Shauna (Dave), the daughter they embraced through Vince; his grandchildren, William (Lucy), Timothy (Anna), and Maryn; his sister, Bonnie (Don) as well as a host of in-laws, nieces and nephews, and many loyal friends.
Gary was born in Watrous, Saskatchewan on August 9, 1937 and grew up in Saskatoon with three siblings. He was involved with Aircraft Insurance claims as an adjustor and made many friends during his career.
Gary followed a variety of sports and was a fan of the Flames and the Stampeders. He also enjoyed golfing and was a long-time member at Elbow Springs Golf Club. Gary and Gloria loved travelling, and together they saw much of the world over the years.
The family extends their deep gratitude to Dr. Daly and his oncology team at the Tom Baker for many years of comprehensive and respectful care. More recently, thanks go to the staff on units 83 and 84 at the Rockyview Hospital, the Palliative Home Care Team, and the Chinook Hospice Staff, who offered their professional and compassionate care to Gary.
During this long journey, Gary and Gloria were constantly grateful for the support of their large extended and close-knit family and friends who offered ongoing love and prayers.
