Gayl Louise Inouye

Gayl passed peacefully in her sleep. She will be dearly missed by her son Christopher (Heather) Inouye; grand children Megan (Kyle) Spreadbury, Abby (Kelly) Fitzsimmons, Mercedes (Spencer) Wilkinson, and Edwin Inouye; great-grandchildren Sophia Grace, Masen, Carter, and Scarlette; mother Tillie Schenk, and brothers and sister Alan, Marty, Craig, Sam, and Janet. She was predeceased by her loving partner, Garth. Gayl had a passion for reading and teaching, and a love for children. She enjoyed a long career as a kindergarten teacher at various Calgary schools. Gayl’s other love was dogs. She had many four legged children grace her family through the years, each with a special place in her heart. Gayl’s other passion lied in cooking and baking. She made many favourites such as Knox blocks, chicken pot pie pockets and especially her famous homemade cherry pies. She recently contributed her favourite recipes to the the family cookbook. A Memorial Service will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Service (4121 17 Ave SE, Calgary) on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at 11:00 am.
