George was instrumental in the initiation, development and continued success of so many organizations, foundations and committees, all over the province of Alberta and Canada. As a result of his dedication he was honored with a Medicine Bonnet at a Ceremony at the Calgary Friendship Centre where he was declared “Chief Eagle Head”. In part his lifes purpose was to create an environment in all his many communities where holistic health and wellness could grow and be nurtured. Being true to his additional name “Eagle Light Shiner” he had a mission to guide in the shining of all the spirits of individuals that were lucky enough to be with him. He was Chief at Holy Circle Sundance in Rosebud, South Dakota when he prayed and sacrificed for all the people. Thank you Great Spirit for Eagle Light Shiner for he was an inspiration and mentor to all.
A Celebration of George’s Life will take place at Bullhead Community Centre (Bullhead Road, Calgary) on Wednesday October 23 at 4:00 pm.
