Gerald Adrien Cyrenne

High River, Alberta

On Wednesday, November 27, 2024 Mr. Gerald Cyrenne of High River, Alberta passed away at the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Center, Calgary, Alberta, aged 69 years.

Gerald was born and raised on a farm outside of Pontiex, Saskatchewan. He moved to Calgary in 1973, where met and married Pauline Comeau and had two children. In 2000 Gerald moved to Lethbridge to pursue a new job opportunity, then in 2004 he moved to High River, Alberta, where he lived out of the rest of his life.

Gerald acquired his diploma and red seal for Sheet Metal Mechanical from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1980. He worked as a sheet metal mechanic for most of his career which included 25 years at Reggin Industries, 3 years in Lethbridge at Charlton and Hill and one year at Modern Metal Products in Calgary. Gerald then transitioned into HVAC where he worked at Mountain Air for several years, then ultimately as a career highlight, started his own HVAC Company, “Two Neighbours”, with his business partner and dear friend, Dominic VonRaven from 2013 to 2023.

Gerald was very athletic, and enjoyed many sports and activities throughout his life, including boating, water skiing, softball, umpiring, hiking, running, golfing, and walking in Fish Creek Park and the High River pathways. Gerald loved to travel, most notable were trips to Vancouver Island, Australia, New Zealand, Florida, Bahamas, St. Johns, Peru, New Orleans, Alaskan Cruise, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Tanzania. He loved plants and gardening and had an incredible green thumb and always a beautiful yard. Gerald loved his art and collectables and was an avid reader. He enjoyed the outdoors, nature, and animals. His biggest passion and love was spending time with his children and grandchildren, including spending time at his daughter and son-in-law acreage where he enjoyed helping with construction projects and planting trees. Last but not least, Gerald was a huge NFL Football enthusiast.

Gerald was charitable, receiving an award for giving 200 platelet donations. When his kids were young, he coached hockey, soccer and volunteered with the Young Canadians. Gerald was very social, he loved a good chin wag, lots of laughing, pranks and joking around. He was generous, always lent a helping hand and would give the shirt off his back. Gerald was incredibly hard working and believed in a job well done. Mostly, Gerald was a family man, and dedicated his life to his family.

Gerald is survived by his loving family, children Clinton Cyrenne of Okotoks, Alberta, Terra and her husband Lowell Fode of Black Diamond, Alberta; grandchildren Nicholas Taylor of Calgary, Hannah Cyrenne of Okotoks, Sidney Cyrenne of Okotoks; and siblings Solange and her husband: Guy Laverdiere of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Monique and her husband Denis Prud’homme of Okotoks, Joel Cyrenne and his wife Nicky of Swift Current, Marc Cyrenne and his wife Lesley of Regina, Saskatchewan, Michel Cyrenne and his wife Sacha of Regina.

Gerald is predeceased by his parents Jeanne Entem and Fernand Cyrenne, and sister Solange Cyrenne.

Celebration of Gerald's life will be held at his daughter’s acreage near Black Diamond, Alberta on his birthday, July 11, 2025.
