Gerald Keith Mrakava

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gerald Mrakava. He was a proud Albertan, raised on a farm but left for the challenge and opportunities of the oil patch, with over 30 years in the field, working as a rig hand to building gas plants.

Gerald loved life, working hard and playing hard. He had an effortless strong handshake and was a born leader. Gerald loved the mountains and all the outdoors, car trips with his favorite classic rock, but he also enjoyed country and western music. He was kind-hearted and respected, with charisma and drive that touched all.

There are many people to thank. Nurses at Foothills, homecare, and all those with kindred brillance and dreams who shared his entrepreneurial visions. Their compassion, understanding and support is greatly appreciated. Gerald leaves behind a hole in our hearts, and he will be greatly missed, although we know that he is in a better place, free of pain.
