Gerald Nitschke

Our beloved son and brother passed away at 36 years old on March 24 2023 under tragic conditions in Calgary.

He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Barbara (nee Melchin) of Calgary and Rainer Nitschke of Calgary; his sisters, Julia (Stephen) Morrow of Calgary, and Lydia Nitschke of Calgary, and his niece and nephews. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Gerald was born in Lethbridge, AB to Barbara and Rainer Nitschke. His greatest loves were his dogs, the ocean, and working in heavy equipment. His instinct was always to protect others around him. He was known as the gentle giant in our family. Gerald is predeceased by his grandparents, Gerald and Evelyn Melchin, Rudolf and Margarete Nitschke; as well as his younger brother, Matthew Nitschke. A memorial Service for Gerald will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023  at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (6560 Silver Springs Cres NW) at 11 am.
