Jerry was born on the family farm in Francis, SK to Joseph & Gertrude Ziegler.
He started working at the age of 17 and worked right up until his retirement at age 67. He was dedicated to his career as a pipeline welder and built upon great life long friendships from the pipeline community. He was a lifetime member of The United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 488 into which he was initiated on July 28, 1958. Jerry worked his way up through the ranks ending his career as a pipeline inspector. One of his proudest moments was attending his 65th year union service recognition in 2024. In his retirement, he enjoyed bird watching, making bird houses, welding garden art/projects and connecting with friends. He really loved music and watching country music videos.
Family was very important to Jerry. He and Marg loved to visit his siblings and extended family over the years. Many fond memories were made of these times when family would sing for hours. Equally he loved his grandchildren and enjoyed family gatherings. He lived a great and full life. He will be missed by many.
