Gerhard Ernest Plattner

Gerhard Plattner passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at the age of 76 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years Lois; step-daughters Lynn Koch and Paula (Chad) Wiseman; daughter-in-law Nellie Plattner; grandchildren Matthew, Paul, Trinity, Evan, Karlie, and Alysha; brother Josef (Herta) Plattner, of Austria; great grandson Hudson; nephews Stephen Plattner and Martin Plattner, both of Austria; and many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Josef and Antonia Plattner, step-son Guy Plattner and grandson Daniel Plattner.

Gerhard was born and raised in Austria. He eventually came to Canada and made Calgary his home, where he met and married the love of his life Lois while they were both working in a restaurant. Gerhard enjoyed a lengthy career as a chef. He also enjoyed the outdoors and country and western music and was a fan of both hockey and soccer.

Gerhard’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Bow Crest Care Center for their patience and kind and compassionate care.

A private family service will be held for Gerhard.
